Scope of our services
OFM Legal is not a law firm, is not registered with any bar and does not provide any service reserved to regulated professions.
What we do. Operational advisory and risk analysis: mapping the regulatory, tax, contractual and banking risks of an OFM business, structuring recommendations, coordination of the professionals involved and follow-up of implementation. Our deliverables (audit reports, risk matrices, action plans, summary notes, internal procedures) are advisory deliverables. They do not constitute legal advice, tax advice or a compliance opinion that can be relied upon against a third party or a public authority.
What we do not do ourselves. Any service falling within the exclusive remit of regulated professions is entrusted to an independent professional who is registered and insured in the relevant jurisdiction: legal advice, drafting of legal documents and court representation by our partner lawyers; tax returns, annual accounts and certifications by our partner chartered accountants; notarial deeds and registration formalities by the locally competent professionals. These professionals contract directly with you and bear their own professional liability. OFM Legal receives no fee-sharing or referral commission from them.
The founder. Olivier Maciejewski is a former business lawyer (Arendt, Luxembourg; Clifford Chance, Paris). He does not practise as a lawyer within OFM Legal and never acts in that capacity. References to his background are provided for information about his experience, not about the nature of the service provided.
Confidentiality. As we are not a law firm, we are not covered by legal professional privilege. Our confidentiality undertaking is contractual and set out in our terms of engagement. Where a matter requires the protection of professional secrecy, it is handled by one of our partner lawyers. We are independent: we do not belong to any agency or platform and we take no commission on our clients' income.
