- An account manager runs one or more creator accounts inside an OFM agency: content calendar, pricing, the chatter team, monthly reporting.
- They can be an employee or a contractor; the label in the contract does not decide it. The IRS and UK law both look at control and the reality of the relationship.
- OnlyFans and MYM are clear: the creator stays responsible for everything done on her account, even when someone else runs it.
- Account access belongs in writing: who holds the logins, what they may do with them, and the day they hand them back.

An OFM account manager is the person who, inside an OnlyFans or MYM agency, runs one or more creator accounts day to day: content calendar, pricing, coordination of the chatters, sales tracking and the relationship with the creator. They are the operational link between the agency's management and the account.
In OFM: what an account manager does
The title comes from sales, where an account manager looks after a client relationship. In an OFM agency the "account" is both the client (the creator) and the tool (her platform profile). The role differs from the freelance manager who looks after one or two creators alone, and from the chatter, who messages fans.
The usual duties:
- building the posting and production calendar with the creator, never imposing content on her;
- proposing subscription, PPV and promotion prices within limits she has approved;
- supervising the chatters: guidelines, script review, checking what is promised to fans;
- monthly reporting: earnings, subscribers, sales and the agency's commission.
What the law says
Employee or contractor
Many agencies engage account managers as contractors. That label is not decisive. In the United States, the IRS looks at three families of facts: behavioural control (does the business direct how the work is done?), financial control (who sets pay, pays expenses, supplies the tools?) and the type of relationship (benefits, permanence). In the United Kingdom, GOV.UK describes a self-employed person as someone who runs their business for themselves, quotes for work, invoices for it and is not under direct supervision; fixed hours, close supervision and an obligation to accept work point the other way. The consequences mirror those for chatters: back payroll taxes, penalties and, in the UK, holiday pay and minimum wage claims if the person is in fact a worker.
Account access
No platform treats the agency as its counterparty. OnlyFans' terms say that if someone else assists a creator with her account, her legal responsibility is unchanged: the platform's relationship is with her. MYM's terms go further: any agent acting for a creator must declare themselves to the platform, and the creator is fully responsible for every action taken from her account, whoever took it.
The account manager therefore works on an account that is not theirs. Continuing to log in after the engagement ends, or changing the payout details, can be unauthorised access: in the UK, an offence under section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990, punishable by up to two years' imprisonment on indictment. In the US, federal and state computer-misuse laws can also apply once authorisation has been withdrawn.
The contract
Whatever the status, the contract should list the accounts and logins entrusted, forbid changes to the email address, two-factor authentication or payout account, cover confidentiality (the creator's real identity, fan data) and require every login to be returned on the last day. If pay varies with account earnings, the calculation base must be written down: gross paid by fans, or net paid out by the platform.
Mistakes to avoid
- Letting the account manager open the account, or its linked email address, in their own name.
- Sending passwords over chat with no two-factor authentication controlled by the creator.
- Paying a "contractor" a monthly fee while setting their hours and targets.
- Forgetting to change the passwords on the day they leave.
