Key points
  • MYM is a French subscription platform for exclusive content, operated by AIR MEDIAS, a company based in Paris.
  • Creators keep 75% of subscriptions and 80% of private media, private shows and tips, calculated on the pre-VAT price after 7% banking fees: on €100 of media sold to a fan outside the EU, you receive €74.40.
  • Earnings are held for 15 days (monthly subscriptions), 60 days (six-month subscriptions) or 7 days (media, shows, tips), then paid in euros from €50 in the SEPA area, which includes the UK, or €100 elsewhere, including the US.
  • Unlike OnlyFans, your contract with MYM is governed by French law, with French courts having jurisdiction.
  • MYM income is taxable where you live: Self Assessment in the UK, Schedule C and self-employment tax in the US, converted from euros.

MYM, or MYM.fans, is a French subscription platform for exclusive content: creators post photos and videos for paying subscribers, and fans pay for subscriptions, pay-per-view media, custom private media, one-to-one video shows and tips. It is run by AIR MEDIAS, a company based in Paris, and creators keep 75% to 80% of the pre-VAT price after 7% banking fees. That is the short answer to "what is MYM". This guide is for UK and US creators looking at a European platform for the first time: what you keep from €100, how euros reach a British or American account, what changes legally compared with OnlyFans, and how the income is taxed at home.

A word on transparency: OFM Legal is an official partner of MYM. Every figure about the platform comes from MYM's public help centre and terms, accessed on 11 September 2026.

What is MYM, and who runs it?

MYM is published by AIR MEDIAS, a French société par actions simplifiée with share capital of €502,000, registered under number 809 565 906, with its head office in Paris. It describes itself as a premium social network for personalities, influencers, artists and their fans. It hosts both general and adult content and keeps them apart: explicit media cannot be posted publicly, and adult content is only shown to fans who pass an age check.

Every account type is for adults aged 18 and over. What sets MYM apart day to day is its "open profile" logic. A fan who stars a creator, likes a public photo or starts a subscription without finishing it becomes an "interested" user, and the creator can send them one offer or free gift every seven days, as with former subscribers. Public media also feed a home timeline that surfaces creators to people who do not yet follow them.

How does MYM work for fans?

Signing up is free and gives access to public media. Everything else is paid:

  • Subscriptions, priced freely by the creator, monthly or for several months. They renew automatically with no minimum term, but must be cancelled before the renewal date: a month started is due. A subscription unlocks blurred feed content and, where the creator has enabled it, the chat.
  • Pay-per-view media: paid "pushes" sent to a group and collected in a catalogue called MOD (Media on Demand), and private media made to order at a price set by the creator, who then has 72 hours to deliver.
  • Private shows: a one-to-one video session of 5 minutes to 2 hours, priced between €19.99 and €1,000, either booked in the creator's calendar or launched instantly from a conversation. The help pages describe this one-to-one format rather than broadcast lives to all subscribers.
  • Tips, of any amount, which can only be sent to a creator you subscribe to and are not refundable.

Purchases appear on bank statements as AIR MEDIAS, creators only see a fan's username, and purchased content can be viewed on the platform but not downloaded.

How does MYM work for creators?

Opening a creator account is free. The final step, certification, is the one that matters: until it is done, your profile is invisible to fans and cannot be paid. MYM asks for your legal name and address exactly as they appear on your ID, a mobile number confirmed by text, a valid passport or national ID card (driving licences and residence permits are refused), a selfie holding that document with your full face visible, no accessories and no filter, three media already posted to your feed, and a bank account in your own name.

Once certified, you work with a feed (public posts capped at five a day, blurred posts unlimited), pushes (up to five media each, unlimited to subscribers, one every seven days to former subscribers and interested users, and impossible to edit or delete once sent), private media, shows, automated messages and scheduling. SuperStar status, reviewed monthly, requires a certified account, at least 50 active subscribers, two posts a week and replies to requests within 48 hours on average; it adds one percentage point to subscription and media payouts and unlocks PayPal withdrawals.

MYM fees: what do you keep from €100?

MYM explains its fees in three layers. First, if the fan lives in the EU, that country's VAT is added on top of your price. Second, MYM deducts 7% banking fees on the transaction amount, VAT included. Third, it passes on a percentage of the pre-VAT price minus those fees: 75% on subscriptions, 80% on private media, private shows and tips.

Item priced at €100 before VATPayout rateFan outside the EU (pays €100)Fan in France (pays €120)
Subscription75%€69.75€68.70

Subscription, SuperStar76%€70.68€69.62
Private media or push, SuperStar81%€75.33€74.20

Worked the way MYM's own example does it: for a fan outside the EU, €100 minus €7 banking fees, times 80%, gives €74.40. Tips stay at 80% for SuperStar creators. Compare this with OnlyFans' 20% on what lands in your account, not on the headline rate.

How and when does MYM pay you?

Every sale goes into your balance as pending, then becomes validated and withdrawable after 15 days for monthly subscriptions, 60 days for six-month subscriptions and 7 days for private media, pushes, shows and tips. Private media are credited once delivered, shows once finished.

To withdraw you need a certified account, a payout method and a minimum balance. MYM's list of SEPA countries includes the United Kingdom, so a UK account qualifies for the €50 SEPA minimum. A US account is outside SEPA and is paid by SWIFT transfer, with a €100 minimum; MYM warns that a first payment to a bank outside Europe can take a few extra days while both banks run their checks. You choose the frequency, from twice a week to once a month; transfers go out on Monday and Thursday mornings, with extra runs on the 1st and 15th. PayPal is reserved for SuperStar creators.

You are paid in euros, so your bank's conversion rate and fees come off before you see pounds or dollars; a multi-currency account may cost less. The account must be in your own name, and keeping it separate makes the income readable for your bank and your tax return. Our guide to banking for creators in the US and UK covers the account side.

MYM vs OnlyFans: what actually changes?

Commission is only one line. The deeper difference is where the platform sits legally.

MYM's terms of use, in their version of 24 July 2025, are governed by French law and give exclusive jurisdiction to the French courts. If you ever dispute an account suspension or withheld earnings, that dispute runs in French, before a French judge. OnlyFans points its users to the English courts instead.

One clause UK and US agencies often miss: article 6.3.1 of MYM's terms requires any agent or manager acting on a creator's account to be declared to MYM, and the creator stays responsible for everything done through the account. MYM certifies no agencies and strongly recommends a written contract; ours on the twelve key clauses of an agency contract sets out what it should contain. For all four platforms side by side, see our OnlyFans, MYM, Fansly and Fanvue comparison.

How is MYM income taxed in the UK and the US?

DAC7, the EU directive that makes platforms report sellers' income to tax authorities, covers sellers resident in an EU member state. If you live in the UK or the US, whether any data about you reaches HMRC or the IRS depends on other exchange arrangements, and it changes nothing either way: the income is taxable where you are resident, and MYM's help centre makes clear that tax is the creator's responsibility.

In the UK, MYM income is self-employed trading income. The £1,000 trading allowance covers very small amounts; above it, you register for Self Assessment by 5 October following the tax year in which you started, then pay income tax and Class 4 National Insurance on the profit. Keep a record of each euro payout and the sterling amount that reached your account. The full picture is in our UK OnlyFans tax guide, which applies equally to MYM.

In the US, it goes on Schedule C, and self-employment tax of 15.3% applies once net earnings reach $400. The IRS requires amounts to be reported in US dollars, translated at the rate prevailing when you receive them. MYM's help pages say nothing about US tax forms, so do not wait for a 1099 to tell you what you earned: your MYM statements are the record. Quarterly estimated payments work as described in our US OnlyFans tax guide.

On VAT, MYM's fee page only asks creators established in France and registered for VAT to add French VAT to their invoices. If you are VAT-registered in the UK, have your accountant confirm how a supply to a French company is treated before you invoice.

Getting started, and the mistakes that cost money

  1. Get certification right first time: valid document, the name exactly as on it, a clear selfie. A refusal delays both visibility and payouts.
  2. Use a bank account in your own name that accepts euros at a reasonable rate.
  3. Get written consent from anyone who appears in your content: MYM can ask for it, with a copy of their ID, and remove the content if you cannot produce it.
  4. Price from the net figure: €100 of private media yields roughly €73 to €75, a €100 subscription €69 to €71, depending on where the fan lives and your status.
  5. If an agency runs your account, sign a written contract and declare the agency to MYM.

The expensive mistakes follow the same pattern: a push sent in haste (it cannot be edited or deleted), a private show missed (after 15 minutes the fan is refunded and your earnings cancelled), content posted without the rights to it (refused certification, removal, possible suspension). What we see in practice: trouble rarely comes from the platform itself, but from what surrounds it. Payouts landing on an account the bank did not expect, income never reconciled in the home currency, log-ins handed to a manager with nothing in writing. Each is easy to fix beforehand. If you want that done properly, our creators page explains how we work.

Frequently asked questions

What is MYM?
MYM, also known as MYM.fans, is a French platform where creators sell exclusive content to fans through subscriptions, pay-per-view media, custom private media, one-to-one video shows and tips. It is operated by AIR MEDIAS, a French company based in Paris. All accounts are for adults aged 18 and over.
How much does MYM take from creators?
MYM first deducts banking fees of 7% of the transaction amount, VAT included, then pays the creator 75% of the pre-VAT price of subscriptions and 80% of private media, private shows and tips. For media priced at €100 and bought by a fan outside the EU, the creator receives €74.40; for a fan in France, where 20% VAT is added, €73.28. SuperStar creators get one extra percentage point on subscriptions and media.
Can UK and US creators use MYM?
MYM's help centre is available in English and its payout rules cover accounts both inside and outside the SEPA area. A UK bank account falls within SEPA for MYM's purposes, with a €50 minimum; a US account is paid by SWIFT transfer, with a €100 minimum, and the first payment can take a few extra days. Certification requires a valid passport or ID card and a bank account in your own name.
Is MYM better than OnlyFans?
Neither is better in general. OnlyFans is a UK company, pays in US dollars and takes 20% of each payment; MYM is French, pays in euros, deducts 7% banking fees and then keeps 25% or 20%, and applies French law. For a creator whose audience is mostly in the UK or US, OnlyFans is usually the main platform and MYM a second one.
Do I pay tax on MYM income in the UK or the US?
Yes. In the UK it is self-employed trading income: above the £1,000 trading allowance you register for Self Assessment. In the US it goes on Schedule C, and self-employment tax of 15.3% applies once net earnings reach $400. In both cases you convert the euro payouts into your own currency for your records and your return.
